The Growth Marketing Director will develop and execute marketing strategy to promote growth, increase app downloads, build customer base and increase usage. This includes but isn’t limited to direct response marketing campaigns such as email, mobile, affiliate, referral campaigns, PPC and SEO. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of flawlessly executing marketing strategies in a highly competitive environment for e-commerce, digital, mobile app companies, or Fortune 500 companies.
The candidate must have passion for performance marketing, confidence with acquisition campaigns and an analytical skill-set. We’re looking for someone who has had a very clear SEM background, can be the lead day-to-day subject matter expert, and knows how to stay ahead of industry trends. The ability to understand the big picture, define KPIs and own end-to-end execution are the keys to succeed in this role.
A strong understanding of retention and lifecycle marketing is important. This role will work on all stages of the user lifecycle, starting from their first trip through churn. We’re looking for someone who can create strategies and marketing tactics to deepen loyalty and engagement across the active user cohort, as well as re-engage and rebuild relationships with users who have or are nearing churn.
The perfect person for this role is someone who excels in digital marketing tactics, analytics, and able to think-outside-the-box. We are a growing business and traditional marketing strategies and tactics won’t cut it. We are looking for someone who can think creatively and help identify high growth channels and opportunities. Someone who is always bringing new ideas and is constantly trying something new. This role is is responsible for driving performance using data for measurable results. Proactive thinking, independence and a candidate who prefers mentoring and guidance rather than being managed is a must.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and execute a scalable and efficient customer acquisition strategy
Manage Adwords, Facebook campaigns (PPC), SEO and affiliate campaigns to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cost-per-download, cost-per-trip and improve performance. Oversee tracking and campaign performance for assigned initiatives
Be a creative thinker, developing new ideas to drive growth. Be a person with a growth mindset who embraces knowledge of all changing media marketplace conditions, consumer trends, research/measurement evolutions, media tech, and growth trends
Develop and deliver monthly plans including test and roll-out campaigns to achieve department objectives for KPIs
Drive weekly, monthly, quarterly optimization tactics that consistently improve channels ROI without losing sight of growth initiatives
Provide insights on direct response campaigns and competitive analysis to identify key insights, trends and recommendations
Work with external vendors where appropriate to manage marketing efforts and initiatives
Consistently test to optimize ROI, targeting, bid strategies, and creative
Deliver weekly reports including, but not limited to, pacing by campaign/channel along with recommendations for improvement or budget spend
Establish, report on, and improve KPIs for the active user cohort to increase the lifecycle of users.
Perform regular site audits, comprehensive keyword research, and competitive analysis to identify and seize growth opportunities
Demonstrate achievement in optimization of large content sites for competitive terms and long tail keywords.
Able to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines in a quick moving work environment while maintaining a positive attitude and enthusiasm for getting results.
Create a culture of data-based decision making. Focus on KPIs to drive recommendations
EDUCATION/ WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS AND DESIRED SKILLS:
A related Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
3-7 years’ experience in search engine and digital marketing experience required. Experience includes campaign development, platform integrations, web & email analytics, media planning & buying and client relationships (internal or external)
Background in email technology, data analytics, SEO/PPC (specifically Facebook, Google Adwords and Bing adCenter) and business intelligence is strongly preferred
Self-motivated and a strong team player. Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Demonstrated writing/communication, interpersonal skills
Excellent logical reasoning and analytical skills with multivariate testing experience
Capable of moving fast and changing directions as well as eager to take on new roles and responsibilities as needed
Understanding of CPA, CPC, CPM, ARPU and LTV
An understanding of the nuances of both the demand and supply side of a marketplace also a major plus
Experience with retention or loyalty marketing - can create data-driven marketing strategies and campaigns end to end and interpret various marketing attribution models.
Ability to organize information in a high level way to communicate key points to partners and internal stakeholders
